Education
The Education Committee provides continuing faith-based education for the congregation, young and young at heart. This committee also oversees the duties of the Sunday School Superintendent and the Vacation Bible School Director.
Sunday School
Sunday School is offered for children during the school year at 10:30 a.m.
Vacation Bible School
Vaction Bible School is heldusually the 2nd or 3rd week of June. Please check back in the late spring and there will be information on when and what the theme will be.
First Communion Class
Any child can take communion class with a parent and the pastor. All third graders take first communion class with the pastor for six (6) sessions in the fall. This year's sessions will begin on September 13, 2011. The students will meet after school on Tuesday's at 4:00 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Bill at 388-1358.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a three year program offered for students in the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades. The classes are scheduled around the students' schedules and occur during the school year. After completing the program, students are confirmed on Reformation Sunday (October) of their 11th grade year. Classes for 2011-2012, starting the week of September 11, 2011. See Calendar for times.
Adult Forum
An adult forum is offered during the Sunday School hour during the school year in the Fellowship Hall. The class is led by Pastor Bob Coughlin. Please come and join us.
Pastor’s Study
Pastor Bill and Pastor Bob offers classes on a variety of topics from divorce to parenting to bible studies, please contact the church office at 388-1358 if you are interested in anything in particular.
CrossWays
CrossWays is an in-depth journey through all 66 books of the Bible. Students gain insights into the culture, traditions, and prevailing religious views of Jesus’ day. Crossways helps you make the connections between the Old and New Testaments. This course is for adults and is offered on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. during the school year. CrossWays will cover all the books of the Bible during the two year study.
Men's Breakfast
The men of Peace Lutheran meet Wednesday mornings at 6:30 a.m. to eat breakfast, study a book or the Bible, and discuss life's challenges.
Evening Study
The evening study is not currently meeting. If you would like to lead an evening bible study, please contact the Congregational Life Committee for assistance.
Saturday Book Club
The Women's Book Club is meeting on Saturdays at the church at 10:30 a.m. We have just started reading Charles Swindoll's Church Awakening. We want to invite YOU to join us! Our meetings start with a sharing and caring time then we delve into the book. Please contact the church office (388-1358) if you have any questions.
