Congregational Council Minutes
January 12, 2012
Members present: Lisa Duffey, Eric Holton, Tom Gruss, Val Ross, Gretchen Carrels, Nancy Vitarius, Vickie Streich, Bruce Sorensen, Pr. Bill Duffey
Members not present: John Gillis, Debra Briggs, Pr. Bob Coughlin, Tim Pipinich, Rick Keller
Devotions presented by Gretchen Carrels regarding resolutions. We are to celebrate God’s mercies each day.
Approval of the December 8, 2011 Council minutes: Tom Gruss made a motion to approve, Nancy Vitarius seconded, motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented. All of the benevolence monies that were due were paid, almost $6000.00. Lisa Duffey moved to approve the Treasurer’s report, Gretchen Carrels seconded, motion carried. The budget for 2012 was looked at again. Gretchen Carrels moved to recommend approval of the proposed budget with changes at the annual meeting. Eric Holton seconded, motion carried.
Congregational concerns: none in box

Pastor Duffey’s report: He is pleased that things are going well.
Pastor Coughlin’s report: no report
Team reports:
- Education: Weekly age-grouped Christmas programs went extremely well during the Children’s Sermons in the month of December. It is recommended that type of format be used in the upcoming years.
- Youth & Family: 11 kids plan on attending the Youth Encounter in February with 3 adults. A parent meeting will be held on February 8 regarding Youth Encounter.
- Stewardship: We continue to be doing well. The Financial Peace University program may be presented at PLC. This is a 12-13 week course developed by Dave Ramsey. More information to follow when known.
- Worship & Music: Services are planned through February, including Ash Wednesday and Lenten Services.
- Property Care: The doors have been ordered and are awaiting installation. A second phone line was installed at PLC. Eric Holton feels that the church should be re-wired to include Ethernet.
- Outreach & Mission: $700 has been raised so far for future mission events.
- Congregational Life: Still working on the directory. A prayer group organizational meeting will be held on January 18 at
7:00 p.m.
Old business:
- The computer in the office was replaced.
- Lorrie Hansen, Eric Holton and Michael Streich have been asked and have agreed to be considered as some of the new Council members. The vote will occur at the annual meeting.
New business:
- The annual meeting will be held on Sunday, February 12 at 10:30 a.m., with a potluck meal being served.
The motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Gretchen Carrels, seconded by Tom Gruss, motion carried.
